As the memory declines ....

Posted by Lisa in , , ,

You never really realize how much your memory has declined until you talk to old high school friends who remember everything from high school, but you remember nearly nothing. T~T Sigh. Why does my memory suck so bad?

Met up with Jon for dinner and he was telling me all these funny incidents from high school that I have non recollection of, even though he said it occurred right in front of my face. What the heck?! What was I doing? Where was I? Was my brain not even there?! Ackz, so frustrating. And he mentions names, and I cannot remember their faces or downright don't know who they are. Although it could be because Jon definitely knew more people than I did (at least I remembered people in our grade :P), but some of the names sounded familiar but I couldn't put a face to them. :( This is so sad. I wonder if by the time I'm 40 I'll have any memories of high school left. SIGH.

Anybody got any tricks for improving the memory? I could totally use some right now. Makes me so saaaaad.

It's even sadder when I forget something someone told me a couple of weeks or months ago. They'd be like, I already told you! And I'd be like, eh? You did? Or they showed me a picture but I don't remember seeing it. Happens mostly when I talk to Jenny. AIH.

Anyway, good old high school days. Some times I wish I could just turn back the time and go back to the relatively less stressful days of high school. :P Other times, not so much.

Oh, we've also established the fact that I'm crazy and weird. ^^

Hey there! I found your blog while I was searching for stuff on 咖啡王子 and found I like reading the rest of your entries as well :)

As for memory issues, I totally can understand what you are feeling because I have memory problems as well. Good thing we blog/write in journals eh? That's the main reason I write, because I know one day I'll need to go back to my entries to recall stuff that happened in my life. That and pictures. It seems like the only time I recall certain events is by reading my own journal or looking at some of the pictures I've taken. Scary.

As for what are some things that might help improve memory? I am currently taking Gingko Biloba extracts, well, when I remember to take them. It's suppose to be good for memory. You can Google the herb. Chinese medicine said it's pretty good too. Other things is to do brain exercises.
